Nick McCann’s Art of Heritage provides complete
commercial & artistic solutions for Britain’s historic
houses, heritage sites and cultural venues

The list of historic properties for which Nick McCann has produced guidebooks, reads like a who’s who of British heritage: Sandringham, Chatsworth, Balmoral, The Castle of Mey, Holkham Hall and many, many more from Land’s End to John O’Groats… It’s a portfolio that is as impressive as his 20 years’ experience and expertise.

Quite simply, over the last two decades, he has revolutionised the way visitors see Britain’s historic properties, lending his artist’s eye to the creation of atmospheric photography, snappy editorial & stylish design – plus an innovative approach to paper selection, binding techniques and production processes.
Everyone else has played catch-up ever since.

Whether the project is photography, a marketing leaflet, a guidebook, an exhibition display, a promotional film or a best-selling coffee table book, there is no one in British heritage publishing with equal flair, imagination and vision.

Working with a range of talented specialist colleagues, Nick’s company can supply you with a contemporary and cost-effective solution.

Wheathills Memory Boxes - works of art & stunning traditional craftsmanship

Nick is delighted to be associated with one of Derbyshire’s most prestigious companies, Wheathills – makers of bespoke handmade furniture and fine marquetry boxes.

Working alongside proprietor Nigel Heldreich and private clients, Nick is producing specially commissioned small-scale painted works for inclusion in Wheathills’ famous memory boxes. Breathtakingly beautiful and highly personal, each box combines exquisitely painted images with highly skilled and detailed marquetry. The result? A truly unique work of art and a family heirloom for the future.

Belvoir Castle

Nick is working with Her Grace The Duchess of Rutland & writer Jane Pruden on an exciting new media and publishing project at the stunning Belvoir Castle, Rutland.

This autumn sees the publication by Nick McCann Associates of Lord Byron's Best Friends by Geoffrey Bond, with a Foreword by Loyd Grossman.

Byron. The very name conjures up an image of reckless romance, scandal, adventure, wild emotions, foreign lands, poetry and glamour. But dogs? It is not widely known that man's best friend held a precious place in Byron's affections. This book sheds new light on the poet's canine love affairs: from bulldogs to Boatswain and beyond. There are Newfoundlands, Mastiffs, Terriers, Greyhounds, and even a Poodle! Lavishly illustrated throughout, this book also features a colourful condensed biography of the poet and many amusing captions to the illlustrations.

editorial & content

To great acclaim in 2012, Nick designed & edited the Special 25th Anniversary / Diamond Jubilee edition of Hudson’s Heritage Guide. In addition to a Foreword by HRH The Prince of Wales, Nick encouraged a raft of heritage celebrities to contribute, including Loyd Grossman, Rt Hon Michael Portillo, Art Critic Brian Sewell, Lucinda Lambton and many others.
